How many photos do you take and how many will I receive?

During a shoot, I take anywhere from 200-400 photos, depending on how long the session is. Part of the editing process is narrowing them down to the very best shots. You will receive around 20-40 edited images from the session, and about 10-15 edited images from a mini session.

Can you Photoshop me?

I like to highlight all the best parts about you and don't believe in altering people in Photoshop to look unlike themselves. That being said, small details like blemishes and frizzy hair can be removed to show you in your best light. I brighten all the images, color correct, and smooth out the skin. Any other body alterations beyond that won’t make you look like you, and isn’t part of the package. If you have any areas that you’re concerned about, give me a heads up before the shoot and we can talk about it.

I hate being photographed - help?!

First of all, take a deep breath! Over half of the individuals I photograph don't feel super comfortable in front of the camera, so no need to be worried, I'm very used to helping you pose and feel comfortable during our photoshoot so we can get the best photos possible. Feel free to check out my posing guide to give you some ideas before the shoot.

What do I wear to the shoot?
The most important answer to this question is wear what you feel comfortable in! Above all else, besides coordinating colors and thinking about patterns and prints, just wear clothes and accessories that you feel represent you and your personality and outfits that you feel really good in!

How can I pay for the shoot?

You can pay with PayPal, Venmo, cash or check. A 50% non-refundable retainer is due when you book the photoshoot, and the rest is due on the day of the shoot.

Can you send me the RAW photos?
A huge part of the photography process is the editing that happens after the shoot. Editing styles vary greatly between photographers, and when we do the shoot, I capture the images with the editing style in mind. So to give the RAW, unedited files, I’d be doing you a disservice by only completing half of the process included in our photoshoot. Don’t worry, I’ll send you high resolution JPEG files so you can get all the prints made, but my policy is that I don’t give out RAW files. If you're looking for a shoot where you have access to the RAW files, I'm not your gal.

How do I get the photos after the shoot?
You will get a link to the photos emailed to you and they will be in an online gallery. In the gallery, you can view all the shots, choose favorites, and download your high-resolution images. Prints are not included in the package.

Where do I get prints made?
I think that is a great place to get photo prints made. They are really high quality and have a super speedy turnaround time. I also use Mpix for my Etsy store prints, so I use them a lot and they've always provided the most high quality images.

Why does it cost so much for a shoot?

I’m so glad you asked! If you'd like to learn more about my expenses and why I charge the rate that I do, you can read about it right here on the blog! I talk about everything from the cost of gear and annual upkeep to a photographer's creative fee and how we can figure out what our time is worth.

What kind of photography equipment do you use?

I actually learned digital photography on Nikon gear in high school, but now I use all Canon gear. I have two camera bodies that I primarily use, a 5D Mark III and a 5D Mark IV. I also have a variety of lenses ranging from a 24-70mm lens to a 70-200mm lens, and some flash equipment.

Can I bring a friend or family member along to the shoot?
Of course! I believe the more the merrier. Sometimes bringing a friend can help relax you, and they can make you smile and laugh. Just make sure you bring someone you feel comfortable with!

Do you do video too?
I'm a strictly photo gal, and I'm not offering video at this time. However, I can recommend you some awesome videographers to work with if you need!
